Sparkle was ready to fight. She got in line and charged for it

Faith lead the army south. 'Line up please. Stand straight, heads up, shoulders down!' Some of the people, including a woman only a little older than herself, tried to charge straight away. 'Please stay in line, until the mages have joined us. A minute or to later from behind, a group of people joined them. 'Stay here until I return.' Faith called running towards the training grounds. She found Jay, by the two girls she had seen earlier. 'Jay!' She called. He looked up pulling a face.
'What?' He called as she almost ran into him, slipping on the wet mud.
He gained her balance back by grabbing his shoulders. 'The west group aren't ready. If we go into battle now, we will be hugely outnumbered.' She gasped a lung full of air. 'Are any of the trainee's ready?' Faith asked looking around.
'Yeah, some of them. Can't you take some of the royal knights?'
'You know that Elena wont let me. You can come with any of the trainees that are ready! Do you hear me?' Faith asked sternly.
'Yeah. Give me a sec...' He called over Franz, Leanne, and a couple of others. Then turned to Nino and Lara. 'You two aswell.' He said smiling.

Maaz helped Lucas mount his pony, and packed a couple of things in the baggage's either side. 'Herbs.' Maaz said. 'Good for wounds.'
Lucas was near the back, but he thought he saw Sparkle at the front.

Back at the village where Sparkle used to live Calvin was packing away and leaving. He sat on the bed and started thinking about where Sparkle was and what she was doing. Calvin went down stairs and went picked up Summer and gave her a big hug and steped outside. There was a big dark hole and Calvin followed it.

Jay, Faith, and the others rushed back to the army. Nino and Lara were pushed into the middle, while Leanne and Franz were at the front. They were given horses, and they mounted. Nino couldn't keep her eyes off Jay's tall figure on horseback. Faith was giving instructions, and they all held up their weapons. The mages at the back, not having a weapon, cheered loudly instead. They were off.

Calvin walked around in the dusty red ground of the devils den. He was met by Ansie and Doyted.

Nino cheered with the rest, and spurred her horse on. On the reins of the horse was the name Brandy. 'Hello Brandy.' She whispered in his ear. He didn't react, and Nino shrugged. The large group moved onward, and it started to rain. Then a horn blew from their right. They had been ambushed. Nino gripped her lance tightly, trying to remember a spell of concealment. Lara seemed to have vanished in the rain. Either she had used the same spell, or they had been separated. Nino could barely see anything. She didn't attack figures, in case they were on her side. Brandy suddenly reared. A flash of lightning had come down, just where her head had been. It smelt of magic. Someone had tried to kill her. Suddenly a horse came beside her. She recognized the figure who was muttering spells. 'Pa?'
He looked round and almost jumped in surprise. 'Nino! What are you doing here?'
Nino didn't have time to explain, before Brandy reared again. This time the lightning hit. Brandy's leg had been caught in the strike.

Calvin, was scared now and started to scramble to the edge of the red crumbly rock and started panicing.
"What do you want Ansie?" Said Calvin
"I want your love" said Ansie

While in the war Elinor was shot in the chest. Sparkle ran to her and tryed to help but she was shocked about how much blood there was and she fainted on the ground.

'Damnation!' Jay roared. Streaks of lighting appeared everywhere, and many of the horses were spooked. He darted between the strikes, and saw two young ladies lying on the ground. One looked like a squire, and the other a knight. The female knight did not look hurt, but the squire did. He urged his horse towards them, praying to the heavens that they were okay.
A mage on horseback suddenly appeared beside the two. He was attending to the squire, so Jay lifted the Knight onto his horse. She seemed to had fainted at the sight of the other woman's blood. Why did she come to war if she fainted at the sight of blood? He thought.

Lucas didn't notice one of the generals pick Sparkle up, and carry her away. He was to occupied with the squire. Luckily she had only been shot on the right side, but he couldn't seem to stop the blood once he had gotten the arrow out.

Sparkle, finnaly woke up from her faint and rose to the log near by.
"What happened, where is Elinor".
Elinor was still in the small tent. Ian, was pracising his shots near a target near the tent. Sparkle went over to him and stared talking to him.
"Hey, What's Your Name?" Said Sparkle Proudly.
"I'm Ian, I have just came from the army and I am trainie mage.

The fight had been won. Lucas, who was helping the trainee mages, noticed that Ian had stopped. He came over and noticed that Sparkle was awake. 'Ian.' He said to the boy. 'Please continue practicing. I know that you always tell me that I am younger than you, but please listen to me for once.' Lucas turned to Sparkle. 'You had a lucky escape Sparkle. If General Jay hadn't helped you...'

Nino overheard her father talking, while nursing Brandy's leg. 'Is Sir Lucas your brother? You look quite alike.' Jay asked her, as he approached.
'No, hes my Pa.'
This confused him. 'He barely looks five years older...'
'Can you keep a secret?' Nino asked.
Jay nodded.
'I'm half dragon. My mother was the princess of the dragon lands.'

Sparkle was still in a conversation with Ian. Ian looked away and focused on Lucas helping Elinor.
"Hey, Lucas you are doing a good job here" said Ian happily

'Suppose so.' He entered the tent, and re-bandaged Elinor, putting herbs on the wound. He walked over to Sparkle, and pulled her into the shadows. 'Sparkle, I need to tell you something.' Lucas took a deep breath and said, 'Noreth is dying. She cannot hold up the magic to keep she and I young for much longer. We cannot live without each other, but I need her to take Artur, Nino, and herself back through the portal. Artur and Nino, will grow like humans, and age like humans while they are here. If they go back they will be like dragons. After the war, can you convince them to go?'

Jay knelt beside Nino. 'Can I take a look?' He asked her. She nodded. He lifted the swollen leg of Brandy, as gently as he could. 'Its infected.' Jay told her seriously.

Sparkle was shocked and ran to Elinor.
"Elinor, I need to talk to you!" Whispered Sparkle to Elinor
"Yes, Sparkle what did you need". Said Elinor a bit scared.
"My sister is ill and I need to go and see her before she leaves". Said Sparkle "You are happy enough to stay with us and get better there it will be more quieter and safer".
"No, Sparkle I can't leave here all I wanted to do is fight in the war and I would always cry when I saw people who have died on the television" said Elinor.
Sparkle was having flash backs from when she was a little girl with her long blonde hair and running to her room when she was younger.
"I, was the same Elinor but I have to leave and see Noreth". Said Sparkle quickly.
"Did you say Noreth, is she from the dragon world?" said Elinor anxiously.
"Yes, I did and I have to go now" replied Sparkle.
"Wait, I am coming with you. I knew Noreth from the younger years". Elinor said while she was daydreaming.
Sparkle and Elinor were packing there bags and going to the nearest horse and carriage and they set off back to Noreth.

Nino found her lips touching Jay's. He face flushed with colour again, and she hesitantly put her arms around his neck. Jay seemed to smile at this. He released her and said, 'Brandy will be okay. I can fix his leg, and you can go home.'
'What? No, I don't want to leave!' Nino argued.
'Please. For me?...Oh.' Jay saw Queen Elena had arrived at last. 'I've got to go.' Then he rushed over to her.

Elena sighed in the heat, and gave the reigns of her horse to the squire Maaz. She shook Jay's hand and he bowed.
'I've decided to stop the war. It is pointless, and I have no idea why the opposing side attacked. I shall speak to their king in person later today. You can send the troops home.' Elena said to Jay and Faith. They nodded and rushed about, organizing transport.

Noreth collapsed beside Artur. He knelt beside her. A trickle of blood oozed out of her mouth. He carried her to her bed.

Sparkle and Elinor have just came out of the carraige. Sparkle saw Noreth with Artur and Sparkle ran to her.
"Noreth, You have to go if you have to live" Said Sparkle sadly.
Summer came out of the cottage, she was now 7 and holding Byron.

Nino and Artur came home at noon. They put their horses in the meadow behind the cottage, and entered the house. Artur sat in the kitchen, his head in his hands.
'Artur, are you okay?' Lucas asked.
He nodded, and looked up. 'Ma and I are going. Sparkle's convinced her. Are you coming Nino?'
Nino shook her head. 'I belong here brother. I know that you understand that. They'll always be a connection between us. Maybe after many years living here I'll go home.'

Sparkle went up to Artur.
"Artur, You dont have to go if you don't want to. Your Auntie Sparkle will look after you with Lucas" said Sparkle sitting next to Artur.
Summer came in the room with Byron in her arms again and put him on the floor.
"Mama, you have came home" said Summer and ran to Summer and leaped into her arms" squealed Summer.
"My lovely daughter Summer, I have missed you to" said Sparkle.

Artur shook his head. 'I want to go. I'm a future prince. Its where I belong.' He sighed and stood up. 'We're going tomorrow morning.' Then he left the room to pack a few belongings.

Sparkle was stopped by Lucas when she was trying to catch Artur.
"Let me go Lucas" Shouted Sparkle.

Lucas shook his head. 'Artur WANTS to go. Don't you see?! He belongs in the dragon world! Sparkle have you ever thought about how I feel?! My wife and son are leaving! I will NEVER see them again! But I'm doing what I think is best for them.' He let go of Sparkle and rushed outside, slamming the door behind him.

Sparkle was furious at Lucas and walked over to Summer and Byron. Summer was holding Byron in her arms. She loved Byron as a brother and settled him in his crib.
"Mama, where is Lucas going?" said Summer anxiously.
"He's just angry because his family are going back to the Dragon world and he can't go with them" said Sparkle nervosly.
"But, Artur and Nino are my best friends are they going to?" said Summer with a tear in her eye.
"Artur, wants to stay with his mother and Nino wants to want to go into war". said Sparkle.

Summer ran out of the cottage to Artur and gave him a hug.

Artur hugged Summer back and put her on his lap. 'I'm going away for a long time Summer.' He put her down and walked into the cottage, holding her hand.

Lucas fumed in the forest. The past five years had been his happiest, apart from his time with his adopted father Nuri. Lucas decided that he wouldn't stay with Nino, unless she wanted to come with him, or Sparkle and her family. He would travel alone as an escort again. He got up, mounted his horse, and rode away into the night. He never saw Sparkle, Noreth, or the others ever again.

Sparkle was more happier than ever. She was living with Elinor, Byron, Summer and Ian. Byron was now 9 and Summer was 15, and they were walking down into the forest in the late after-noon and Sparkle, Elinor and Ian were walking in front of Summer and Byron.
"The good summer breeze" said Sparkle inhauling the fresh-air.

Nino, still the same age as she was nine years ago, sprinted along a dark alleyway. Her heart made loud rhythmical beats, and she wondered if it would bounce out of her chest. She had worked as an escort for the past eight years, leaving Sparkle and her children a year after Nino's family left. She hadn't seen Jay since the war, or anyone else in her past life. A few years ago, Nino had met a girl called Cara. Cara had been eleven at the time, and she sat in a wood crying her eyes out. Nino felt for the girl, so she had looked after her. Cara's family had died in a bandit attack. When Cara turned fourteen few weeks ago, she had become an escort too.
Nino turned into another passage, and slowed to a walk. She entered a pub, and ordered a soft drink. Cara came in a few minutes later, her dark blonde hair soaking, like the rest of her. It had started raining heavily.

Summer and Byron were fighting behind Sparkle. Sparkle turned around.
"Oii, you two do you want to have a drink" said Sparkle parturched
"Mama, that is a great idea, I would like the green soda" said Summer poiltly. The green soda was all the range and only for teenagers.
"Why, do I have to have the baby drinks. I want the green soda like Summer is having" said Byron,stomping along the ground. "All, my friends mums have them to get the green soda why cant I?"
